Valecia Jordan was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Vickii Vann and Rondale Cotton. Her exposure to music began at home singing during holiday performances with the family. By age nine, Valecia was singing before a live audience. She attended high school in Huntington LI, NY and was a member of her high school concert choir where she was featured soloist on many occasions. Listening to her grandmother, aunts, and grandfather sing throughout the years encouraged her to take her talent a step further. In 1987 she was featured in the Salt-N-Pepa mega hit video “Shake Yo Thang".
In 2006 Valecia appeared on the Legendary Show “Apollo Theater" where she sang the hit song "I'm Going Down". She now performs in several genres of music that include gospel, R & B and rock. Her musical influences include R & B sensation Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Currently Valecia is very active in her Church Choir and sings at weddings, banquets, and other functions.
Valecia is one of the talented artists that perform with Romonta & Friends on Friday night at Mango’s, located in Norfolk, Virginia. She also, on occasions, assists Romonta & Friends by singing “back-up”. Under the direction and development of Romo Entertainment, Valecia is now writing her own music. Her soft and soulful voice truly adds a unique sound to the show
